Fehr was awful for baseball and will be awful for the NHL
The biggest issue I see is doing something about the bridge contract after the entry level contract.
Few players go the route that Brad Marchand went by taking a gradual increase.
Also, there should be language to correct the loophole in the decade + long contacts we see now. Kovalchuks contract should have not been voided based on the wording of the current CBA even though I think it's retarded to go that long.....even though I have a problem with GM's on the job now screwing the teams in the future |

Yep, the educated or athletically superior get ahead. Maybe if you worked hard at either you wouldn't be broke and have a reason to whine on the Internet. |

I don't care who we play. NYR or NJD will lose no matter who comes out on top. |

The luckily-born, corrupt, criminal and socipathic also get ahead too...when I think of the upper crust I've known at various times it's actually kind of disheartening how many of them were actually stupid and fat, just sayin', the Horatio Alger myth is often a myth

"Control is why the NHLPA nixed the re-alignment from the NHL a few months ago."
Do you honestly believe that getting power over the NHL is the only reason for nixing the re-alignment? (Both of Ek's reasons are essentially the same thing)
Some teams, and therefore players, have a better chance of making the playoffs every year in the proposed alignment. In what other league has that ever been acceptable? |

I've got to agree with you. While having some merit, the re-alignment plan needs tweaking. It favors some conferences(or will they be called divisions?) over others, and I don't know how that will greatly impact travel out west.
To just say they rejected it is short sighted and, to me, is more showing of your opinion Ek than what is the fact. Not going to say you're wrong, because I don't know, but I don't think having power was the major reason for it. |

I don't like Fehr. He had a big part in ruining baseball for me.
I'm just not a big fan of realignment. |

Fehr is an idiot. Unions may be OK for coal miners, but not for athletes. If the players wanted to, they could all leave the NHL and form their own league, and govern it themselves.
Why don't they? Because the owners take all the risk of losing money, and the players have no risk of walking away from a season in red ink. |

Currently many players will tell you they feel the owners can pretty much do whatever they want to do and the players HAVE to go along with it all.
Gee, that sounds just like having a job. Oh, wait... |
